Seeds of greed

By Marge Ngomdir, Aalo

A man in search of livelihood,
Wander out from home.
Found He a fertile land.
Land He ploughed and till for cultivation.

Sow He the seeds of greed.
Dishonesty He manured the seeds of greed with,
Cheating He irrigated with..
Abundance of wealth and power, He harvested.

Sow He the seeds of wealth and power.
Corruption He manured the seeds of wealth and power with,
Treason He irrigated with.
Harvested He, plethora of hatred.

Hatred stretched into chaos of gigantic trees,
Laden with fruits of curses.
Plucked He affluence of castigation.
Harvested, the man vilification from the seeds of greed
And lay barren.
