Lately, we have noticed that Raj Bhavans are releasing advertisements in various newspapers, etc, celebrating the foundation day of different states of India. While celebrating the foundation of a state within the state itself is noteworthy and worthwhile, we find no merit in Raj Bhavans of other states going the extra mile to celebrate the foundation days of other states. The precious financial and other resources of the state could be better utilised for more meaningful purposes, especially in a country as economically challenged as India.
