When the Hollongi airport was inaugurated, we were thrilled, as it meant easier travel back home. However, for us studying in Manipur, we are unable to take advantage of our own home state airport since there are no direct flights from Hollongi to Imphal. We have to catch flights either from Guwahati or Dibrugarh. It is true that Manipur boasts some of the best educational institutions in India, such as RIMS, CAU, SAI, and many more, which is why Arunachal’s students are here in large numbers. Through this column, I request the chief minister and the authorities concerned to establish Imphal to Hollongi airport flight services. In the current state of affairs, access to flight services is greatly needed.
Hopeful for direct flights from Imphal to Itanagar soon.
