GUWAHATI, 1 Mar: The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation’s (ESIC) regional office (RO) here in Assam has received the award for being the best-performing RO in the regional office (small) category.
The award was received by ESIC NE Regional Director RL Guite from union Labour & Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav.
The ESIC is a statutory organisation under the union labour & employment ministry which provides social security to insured persons and their dependents/families. Currently, the ESIC is catering medical and cash benefits to 3.42 crore insured persons and 13.30 crore beneficiaries.
“The ESIC RO is providing benefits to 3.32 lakhs insured persons and 12.88 lakhs beneficiaries spread across the seven states of the Northeast through the network of two hospitals, three DCBOs, 38 dispensaries, and 20 branch offices,” it informed in a release.
