Address teachers’ shortage issue

Editor,

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to praise and strongly support the order issued on 11 March, 2024 by Education Commissioner Amzad Tak.

Several unnecessary appointments of teachers as coordinators without any teaching experience and knowledge of the recruitment rules (RR), and attachment of teachers in the DDSE offices are the main reasons of teachers’ shortage in the schools of our state.

I have seen that in each and every block of our state there are five to six coordinators. Only one coordinator can do the work of one block. In this high-tech world, data are sent online. Reverting back to the original post will surely help in overcoming the problem of teachers’ shortage in our state.

Moreover, not following the RR in the appointment of coordinators seriously affects the morale of the old and experienced teachers who should be given preference in this kind of appointment.

This order should be implemented strongly to solve the problem of teachers’ shortage in our state.

Therefore I request Education Minister Taba Tedir and the education commissioner to solve the problem of teachers’ shortage in the state by strongly implementing the order, taking action against coordinators who do not adhere to the order, and reverting them back to their original posts as teachers.
