PAMPOLI, 28 Jun: The East Kameng Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) here organised an on-campus training programme for fish farmers from various parts of the district on Friday.
The KVK’s fishery scientist Dr VK Mishra apprised the participants of ‘Composite fish culture technology, package and practices for improved aquaculture production’, and presented details regarding “the technology for improved aquaculture production with minimisation of input cost through utilising natural resources.”
He also dwelt on “the methodical preparation before seed stocking and care during the stocking of fish seed to minimise the mortality.”
Soil science specialist Anil Pandey delivered a lecture on ‘Role and importance of quality soil for improved fish production’. He apprised the farmers of how the soil plays an important role in “pond biological (natural food) productivity,” and of the steps to be taken during site selection for pond construction.
The KVK assured the fish farmers that it would help them through technical support as and when required. (DIPRO)
