A Woman’s Cry (POEM)

— Anand M. Mishra,

This land once hailed Ram and Krishna’s name,
Where even demons shivered in Mahakal’s flame.
But today on this same sacred ground,
A daughter’s silent scream resounds.

The soil where goddesses lived in grace,
Where every woman’s life was a shining embrace,
How did darkness fall upon this place?
Why does every tear now leave a trace?

They blamed her clothes, her age, her way,
Even innocent children were led astray.
Protectors became predators; betrayal took form,
How long must these heinous acts storm?

Governments stand like statues cold,
Justice seems quiet, stories untold.
How long will candles light our path?
How long before we end this wrath?

Now light the torch, let justice reign,
Give voice to truth, end the pain.
A real man stands by a woman’s side,
And gives her the strength she needs to stride.

No more will we suffer in silent tears,
The time has come to conquer our fears.
We’ll rise, we’ll fight, and make it clear
This battle is for every woman right here.

The roads once lost in shadows’ gloom,
Will now burn bright with freedom’s bloom.
Light the torches, ignite the hearts,
Awaken the power that never departs.
