The decision of the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) district administration to open one side of the Karsingsa viaduct/bridge for traffic has considerably eased the commute for travelers. This decision came after the completion of load testing on the bridge. The other side is expected to open once its load testing is completed. The old Karsingsa-Nirjuli road was in poor condition, so the opening of the viaduct will make the journey on this stretch more comfortable.
Package C, which extends from Nirjuli to Banderdewa, is almost complete. The 1.1 km-long viaduct, a key component of Package C, is also nearing completion. The contractor for Package C, ARSS Infrastructure Projects Limited, deserves appreciation for their work. Now, the PWD highway and ICR administration should focus on completing Package B, which starts from Papu Nallah and ends at Nirjuli. Work on this stretch is progressing very slowly, and there is an urgent need to accelerate it. The existing highway from Chimpu to Papu Nallah is also in poor condition, with potholes developing in many areas that need to be repaired as soon as possible.
