Farmers-scientists interaction prog

CHAGLAGAM, 30 Jan: Sixty-five farmers, rural youths and public leaders from several villages participated in a farmers-scientists interaction programme organised here by the Anjaw district Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) on Thursday.

The programme was aimed at providing knowledge about cultivation of horticulture crops, and livestock rearing.

Addressing the participants, KVK Head Dr Debasis Sasmal dwelt on the scope and potential of horticulture fruits crops, and said that since Chaglagam circle is one of the hotspot locations for cultivation of temperate horticulture crops, “it is high time to create awareness among the farmers for cultivation of such crops for enhancing income.”

He said also that livestock rearing is a major way for earning a livelihood from.

Various issues related to horticulture practices and livestock rearing were discussed during the farmers-scientists interaction.
