NE inter-university youth festival ends

AGARTALA, 1 Feb: The five-days ‘Tarang Utsav’, the 38th Inter-University North East Zone Youth Festival, hosted by the ICFAI University, Tripura, in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), concluded on 31 January.

A total of 802 youths from 22 universities, including the ICFAI University, Tripura, took part in 28 competitive events, like music, dance, theatre, literary, fine arts, etc, during the youth festival.

Gauhati University became the overall champion, Cotton University became the 1st runner-up, Dibrugarh University 2nd, Manipur University 3rd, and Assam Royal Global University became the 4th runner-up, respectively, in the festival. The winning teams were awarded attractive prizes.

Addressing the gathering at the valedictory function, AIU observer Dr Bala Lakhendra presented the report of the 38th Inter-University North East Zone Youth Festival.

Tripura’s ICFAI University vice chancellor Prof Biplab Halder said that talent, creativity, skills and unity of the youths were celebrated throughout the youth festival.

Among others, AIU technical observer Dr Deepak Mishra and ICFAI University registrar Dr A Ranganath were also present on the occasion.
