Editor,
I wish to draw the attention of the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) and concerned authorities towards a matter of deep concern for many aspirants across the state. The recent notification dated 13/04/2025, announcing district-wise domicile-based reservation in the upcoming Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination, has caused considerable apprehension among the student and aspirant community.
The APSSB CGL examination is a state-level recruitment process and must reflect the values of meritocracy, fairness, and Pan-Arunachal unity. Introducing district-wise quotas may unintentionally divide aspirants along district lines, which is contrary to the vision of an integrated and united Arunachal Pradesh. We are all sons and daughters of this beautiful state, and such measures risk fostering regional bias, thereby weakening the very foundation of equal opportunity.
While the existing Scheduled Tribe reservation policy already ensures equitable representation for all indigenous communities, adding a district-based domicile criterion could lead to exclusion of deserving candidates and undermine the objective of building a competent, merit-based workforce for the state.
In light of these concerns, I respectfully appeal to the APSSB and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to reconsider and revoke the decision regarding district-wise reservation, and instead uphold the Pan-Arunachal spirit by ensuring that all aspirants, regardless of their district, compete on a common and equal platform.
Let us move forward as one state, with one vision-where opportunity is based not on one’s place of birth, but on merit, hard work, and dedication.
Concerned Aspirant
