DOLLUNGMUKH, 26 Sep: The Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB) conducted a ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ and an awareness programme here in Kamle district on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, NHPC Deputy General Manager Bengia Gomo lauded the board for providing healthcare facilities at the doorsteps of the BOC workers. He termed the labour community the backbone of the nation and thanked them for the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, which is considered the largest hydroelectric project in India. “Without the labour community, this dream could not have been accomplished,” he said.
Gomo appealed to all the workers under various firms like Patel, PES Engineering Pvt Ltd, SUMA, and G Company under the NHPC to register with the board to avail of various statutory and non-statutory benefits.
APB&OCWWB Registering Officer Koj Kanoelaborated the importance of Swasth Nari, SashaktParivar Abhiyaan, being observed from 17 September to 2 October. “The campaign activities are aimed to improve health outcomes for women, adolescent girls, and children,” he said.
He added that the campaign brings together communities, healthcare providers, and policymakers to reaffirm the vision of healthy women, empowered families, and a stronger India.
OSD to the board, Jitu Rigia, explained the process of registering with the board. He also highlighted the various statutory benefits like maternity benefit, educational assistance for the children of registered workers, marriage assistance, death benefits, accidental benefits, etc.
A team of doctors from Itanagar screened more than 700 patients on the occasion.
