The family of Zubeen Garg has filed a complaint with the CID, seeking a thorough investigation into his death by drowning in Singapore.
The singer’s family also urged the police to take steps to secure the copyrights of Garg’s creative works.
Garg was in Singapore to participate in a festival and drowned on 19 September while swimming without a life jacket during a yacht trip organized by members of the Singapore Assam Association.
Allegations of conspiracy and foul play surrounding Garg’s death have surfaced, prompting the government to form a special investigation team (SIT) to probe all possible angles.
The chief minister of Assam stated that the case could be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation if the SIT fails to uncover the truth.
The Assam government must ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the beloved singer’s death.
A widely loved and revered figure, Garg’s passing has plunged the state into despair and grief. His family, as well as the public, deserves as much detail as possible about the final hours of his life in order to find closure.
Emotions are still raw, and it seems unlikely that his fans will ever fully come to terms with this tragic loss. Therefore, the investigating agencies must carry out their duties with thoroughness, impartiality, and urgency.
