The APPSC, vide No PSC R (B)/04/2022 had advertised a single post of tourist information officer (TIO) in 2022. But all of sudden, without giving any reason, the commission cancelled the advertisement, along with other vacancies, vide Order No APPSC/12/11/2025, dated 16 October, 2025.
Though a single post of TIO was advertised, it was a ray of hope for hundreds of unemployed tourism youths who had been requesting for advertisement of vacant posts in the Tourism Department. Now the main problem is that many aspirants who had applied for the single post of TIO three years back have now crossed the upper age limit. Since the post has been cancelled for no fault of ours, we deserve a one-time age relaxation.
Therefore, we appeal to our state government, especially the Personnel and Training Department, to consider our appeal and do the needful.
