TAWANG, 29 Jan: An awareness workshop on the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) was conducted at Dorjee Khandu Government College (DKGC) here on Thursday.

The programme, which was launched by Tawang Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo, was organised by the District Skill Committee in collaboration with the DKGC, with the aim of sensitising students and stakeholders to apprenticeship opportunities and skill development initiatives.

Representatives from 2Coms Consulting Pvt Ltd, Eduvantage Pvt Ltd, Yuva Shakti, Timilo Boutique, and Vivanta Tawang, along with ITI students and students of DKGC participated in the workshop.

Addressing the participants, the deputy commissioner termed the workshop “highly productive,” and informed that the government has signed memorandums of understanding with several countries and industries, opening up significant employment avenues, and emphasised the importance of leveraging these opportunities.

The DC also requested the skill development & entrepreneurship deputy director to “further enhance the functional quality of the ITI in Lungla on a daily basis.”

Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Deputy Director Gyati Kacho in his address highlighted the department’s initiatives for youth empowerment, with special focus on NAPs and SAPs. He stated that through these schemes, the government aims to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Arunachal by empowering and skilling the youths. He also delivered a detailed presentation outlining various ongoing and upcoming skill development programmes.

Consultants and representatives from partner agencies acting as bridges between employers and job seekers also delivered comprehensive presentations on employment scope, industry linkage, and career pathways available to youths through apprenticeship programmes.

The workshop proved to be an informative and engaging platform for students and stakeholders alike, encouraging greater youth participation in skill development and employment-oriented training initiatives. (DIPRO)
