Editor,
I wish to highlight a concern that many government employees quietly face every year with the coming of March. During this time, several unions and organisations approach government offices, seeking financial assistance. These demands are often made for donations as well as for conducting internal elections of their organisations.
While unions play an important role in society, the repeated requests for funds place emotional and professional pressure on officials. In some cases, different tactics such as frequent visits, indirect persuasion, or implied expectations are used to secure contributions. Many officials feel uncomfortable but hesitate to speak openly.
Government funds are meant for public welfare and development. It is disheartening to see public offices put in difficult situations, especially at the end of the financial year. This practice affects transparency and creates unnecessary strain within departments.
I humbly request the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to frame and implement clear rules to regulate or restrict such financial demands. Proper guidelines will protect both public servants and public resources, ensuring fairness and accountability.
I hope the authorities concerned will take this matter seriously for the sake of good governance and the dignity of public institutions.
