12 years of Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre

ITANAGAR, Dec 3: The Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre (APSC) celebrated its 12th foundation day at the Science Centre in Indira Gandhi Park here on Sunday with various activities for young students.
Addressing the celebration, Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology Chairman, Bamang Mangha informed about the Innovation Hub (Taramandal), which is set to be inaugurated soon. He appealed to the students to come to the centre so that they could remain updated on science and technology.
Science and Technology Director, CD Mungyak informed that the space digital centre is also coming up in the Taramandal, with added facilities for the benefit of the student community of the Capital and the state as well.
Elaborating the purpose of celebrating the day, Science Centre Curator, Dr Vivek Kumar said that the centre aims to impart scientific knowledge along with entertainment in a non-formal manner.
The daylong programme also included competitions for school students from the Capital Complex.
In the science drawing competition, Daizy Tayeng of Holy Cross School was awarded the first prize, while M Reshmi of KV-1 and Linyam Beyong of Kingcup Public School came at second and third places.
In the science model-making competition, Gengam Kango of Kingcup Public School won the first place, with Aman Yadav of KV-2 and Heri Manju of Holy Cross School winning second and third positions.
Hage B Yasing of Holy Cross School won the first place in the science storytelling competition. Mihin Tagi of Good Shepherd Public School and T Rohini of Holy Cross School were adjudged second and third place winners.
