ITANAGAR, May 17: The women and youth of Ward No 2 carried out sanitization activities in several colonies on Sunday, including the police colony and the SRPL colony.
The youth of the area initiated the sanitization programme and the necessary items required were arranged by well wishers.
Speaking to reporters, Yania Niji, a local resident informed that the women here have been engaged in several social welfare activities, including distribution of ration items and helping the needy.
“It is necessary to maintain hygiene as the monsoon season is nearing and several drains and other roads and paths in the colony need to be sanitized to keep diseases and insects at bay,” she said.
The women and youth also distributed over 700 facemasks to residents of the police colony and SRPL colony.
