PASIGHAT, Jun 13: In view of the increasing instances of Covid-19 positive cases being reported in East Siang, District Magistrate Kinny Singh on Friday issued an order under Section 144 CrPC, prohibiting movement of individuals and vehicles.
The ex parte order came into force in the jurisdiction of the Pasighat sadar township and rural peripheries covering Yagrung and Sille-Oyan circles, from 7 am of Saturday, and will last till 14 May midnight.
Medical emergencies, essential services, movement of supply chain, and movement of staffs engaged in Covid-19 duties, besides police, magistrates and enforcement officers on duty are exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
Following the order, shops and business establishments in Pasighat town and Sille-Oyan area remained closed on Saturday. Apart from plying of a few vehicles on emergency and essential services, there was no movement of passenger vehicles in the town.
