LEWANG, 17 Mar: Changlang Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav on Tuesday visited Lewang village here in Changlang district and gave a final nod to the proposal for converting the unused school building here into a health sub centre-cum-de-addiction centre.
He also informed that the drugs and opium addicts who will successfully undergo the de-addiction course will be facilitated with poultry and piggery schemes so that they can earn their livelihood.
Accompanied by ADC Sunny K Singh and MO i/c Dr H Jongsam, the DC later inspected the new school building and other infrastructures here.
He asked the GBs, PRI members and Miao Singpho Ramna Hpung executive members to take special care of the public assets.
He also asked the community leaders to ensure that the opium addicts are convinced to get themselves de-addicted once the centre starts the courses.
He further assured to provide desk and benches to the upper primary school.
Since the old school building has several rooms, it was also decided to use two rooms as quarters for the nurses posted there.
