ITANAGAR, 8 Apr: Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu reviewed the second wave of Covid-19 at the Raj Bhavan here on Thursday.
Both the governor and the CM decided to put in the best effort to check the spread of the pandemic. They emphasized on the necessary precautions of putting face masks, social distancing and frequent washing of hands with soap.
The governor also emphasized on early completion of the Hollongi airport project and Miao-Vijoynagar road during the meeting.
Commending the CM for undertaking the tedious journey to Gandhigram and Vijoynagar and reaching out to the people in the remote area, the governor said that “for the safety and security of the eastern part of the state, the Miao-Vijoynagar road has to be completed at the earliest.”
The governor, who returned from New Delhi recently, shared his recommendations on various issues discussed with the Union Government’s representatives. He also informed the CM about the Prime Minister’s vision to open 100 new Sainik schools in the country.
“Arunachal Pradesh must bid for new Sainik schools and plan to provide full infrastructure for the new Sainik schools, the governor said and added that new schools should be located in border districts and developed on the day-schooling pattern with a high standard, imparting quality education and good physical and sports training.
The chief minister, who called on the governor, also briefed him regarding his district tours. (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
