DAPORIJO, Jan 19: Scores of aspirants are participating in the pre-recruitment training being imparted by the Indian Army in the run-up to the Army recruitment rally scheduled to be held at Lower Siang HQ Likabali from 5 to 8 February.
The pre-recruitment training, which commenced here in Upper Subansiri district in early January, is aimed at imparting training for 350 vacancies in trades such as soldier general duty, soldier clerk, etc, at Daporijo, Ziro, and Koloriang, under the aegis of the Army’s Subansiri Brigade, Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts.
‘The training is designed to guide the local youths by imparting basic orientation training, checking and vetting of documents, medical checkup, physical training, and practice of written examination, thereby enhancing their probability of selection in the forthcoming rally,’ the Army’s media cell informed in a release.
Out of 136 youths who turned up, 50 have already been registered for the rally from these districts, it said, adding that similar efforts are underway in other district headquarters.
