AALO, Feb 3: The stage is set for the football and volleyball semifinals of the second State Level Hangpan Dada Memorial Tournament.
In men’s football, Changlang will meet Lower Dibang Valley, while Lower Subansiri will be up against Kra Daadi to secure places in the final.
Changlang beat East Siang 2-0 in the first quarterfinal, and Lower Dibang Valley defeated West Siang 5-0 in the second quarterfinal played here in West Siang district on Saturday.
Kra Daadi and Lower Subansiri entered into the semifinals, defeating Lohit (2-0) and Capital Complex (2-1) in the third and fourth quarterfinal, respectively.
The semifinalists in men’s volleyball are Kra Daadi, Capital Complex, East Kameng and Lohit. Kra Daadi beat West Kameng, Capital Complex beat Lower Subansiri, East Kameng beat West Siang and Lohit beat Tirap in the quarterfinal matches.
Kra Daadi will meet Capital Complex and East Kameng will meet Lohit in the semifinals, to be played here on 4 February.
In women’s volleyball, Kurung Kumey will play against Papum Pare in the first semifinal and Kra Daadi will face Lower Subansiri in the second semifinal on Sunday.
Kurung Kumey beat Upper Subansiri, Papum Pare beat Longding, Lower Subansiri beat West Siang and Kra Daadi beat Capital Complex in the quarterfinals played at Kamba.
The women’s football semifinals will be played at Kamba.
Kra Daadi will meet Upper Subansiri and East Siang will lock horns with West Siang on 4 February. (DIPRO)
