AALO, 25 Feb: The Sora family, comprising DSP Nyumyom Sora, Lumla PWD EE Nyumli Sora, Sora GPC Nyumge
Sora and DC office HA Nyumpe Sora, on Friday dedicated a two-room, well-furnished office of the headmaster of the government secondary school (GSS) in Nikte in West Siang district in memory of their father, late Dagnyum
Sora, mother, late Dugbi Ete Sora, and sister, late Nyumme Sora, on the occasion of the death anniversary of their mother.
The office was inaugurated by Nari-Koyu MLA and education adviser Kento Rina.
In his address, Rina said that “there was a time when we used to have benches made of bamboos and thatched classrooms. Students have better facilities today and they should do better in all academic parameters.
Handing over such a beautiful office building with all beautiful infrastructures like revolving chair for headmaster, visitors’ chairs, window and door curtains is a unique idea to solve many of the problems in schools.”
DDSE Duken Kato praised the Sora brothers “for sharing the burden of the education department through such gesture,” while Ubu ZPM Genya Ori and Ubu ZPM (Aalo West) Kenli Nyorak said that the five-room bachelor barrack which was gutted by fire recently “is an added woe to the infrastructure shortage in the school,” and urged the MLA to follow up the proposal sent to the government.
ZPM Ori also pleaded for “continuance of leave substitute teacher as in the past for teachers going on long maternity and medical leave.”
Ex-ZPM and SMC member Topak Ori also spoke. (DIPRO)
