KHONSA, 13 Mar: The Tirap district administration seized illegal liquor under Section 34 of the Arunachal Pradesh Excise Act, 1993 from several small kiosks (gumties) in the market area here.
The offenders were charged penalties under the act and directed not to keep or sell liquor in their premises henceforth.
The seized liquor was destroyed by the board constituted for the purpose, in the presence of Town Magistrate Dr Ripi Doni and the police.
The DA, along with the departments of tax, excise & narcotics, food & civil supplies, and police, has been conducting surprise checks on illegal sale of foreign liquor. (DIPRO)
