LONGDING, 30 Mar: The Longding Battalion of Assam Rifles in association with the Longding Wushu Association and NCC, Kanubari on Wednesday organized a ‘Wancho Walkathon’ to generate awareness among the people about harmful effects of drug abuse.
The walkathon, themed ‘Say no to drugs’, saw the participation of more than 100 children and youth of Kanubari circle, holding placards, banners and shouting slogans against drug abuse.
The issue of involvement of insurgents in drug trade and trafficking in the region were also highlighted.
Later, all the participants took a pledge to assist the security forces in the fight against drug problem. (DIPRO)
