CHANGLANG, 28 Jun: The Changlang district administration on Tuesday informed that the block at the 20.1 km point of the Margherita-Changlang road has been cleared and the road will be reopened for traffic from 29 June.
Earlier, on 14 June, a large portion of the road was damaged due to a rainfall-triggered landslide, snapping communication between the district headquarters and Assam.
The DC issued a circular on Tuesday, stating that “the damaged road has been cleared and opened for faring of all types of vehicles with effect from 7 am of 29 June.
“The road is open to the public based on communication received from EE, PWD, Changlang. However, the commuters are advised to remain vigilant while crossing the subject point and try to avoid crossing during night hours, especially during rainy spells, as the area is prone to landslides on account of fresh excavation and cutting.
“An excavator and a JCB will remain at the site to clear blockage and disruption occurring due to fresh landslides, if any,” the order read.
