YUPIA, 4 Aug: The status reports of routine immunisation (RI) and Covid-19 vaccination during the intensified ‘Har Ghar Dastak and Har School Dastak-2.0’ campaign were reviewed during a meeting of the Papum Pare district task force for immunisation here on Thursday.
The two-month long ‘Har Ghar Dastak and Har School Dastak-2.0’ was launched on 1 June to intensify vaccination of children aged 12-18 years and beneficiaries of the second dose, and to provide the precaution dose to those in the 60 plus age group through door-to-door activities.
DC Sachin Rana, who chaired the meeting, noted the discrepancies in the data provided by the medical officers of various health centres, and called for making sincere efforts in collecting accurate data for the immunisation programmes.
“It should be a two-way exercise by both the education and the medical departments in extracting the exact list of the targeted beneficiaries for the schoolchildren,” he said.
Also taking note of the low vaccination coverage due to absence of Aadhaar cards of schoolchildren, the DC directed the DDSE to “ensure that identity cards are issued to all the schoolchildren, as identity cards are also accepted in the CoWIN portal.”
Speaking about Covid vaccine refusal cases, Rana suggested “collaborating with the PRI members and intensifying IEC activities to convince the people.”
DMO Dr Komling Perme, after learning about the challenges faced by the MOs in carrying out vaccination programmes, assured to provide the POL expenses during the vaccination campaigns.
He also advised all the MOs to “leave no stone unturned to reach out to the people in the last mile.”
“Even if there are denial cases, we as doctors should always offer our services,” he added.
