HAWAI, 18 Aug: A ‘training-cum-awareness programme’ on the special summary revision, amendment of election laws, and Aadhaar seeding with EPIC was conducted by the district election office here in Anjaw district on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner Talo Jerang, presiding over the programme, highlighted the roles of assistant electoral registration officers (AERO) and asked them to “go through the guidelines of the Election Commission to conduct a healthy election in any situation.”
He instructed all the AEROs to list out the electoral rolls in their respective jurisdiction with the help of PRI members, GBs, and educated members of the society.
Hawai SDO NK Namchoom informed that Anjaw has 81 polling stations, “which is also the highest in the state with one MLA constituency.”
She said that “changes have been made in Forms 6, 7, 8, and 8 A form has been discontinued after amendment of election laws.”
She asked the AEROs to “mobilise the BLOs for Aadhaar seeding of EPIC.”
