KOLORIANG, 13 Mar: The 138 Bn CRPF on Monday distributed solar lanterns among the poor and the needy people here in Kurung Kumey district, as part of the force’s civil action programme.
Kurung Kumey SP Bomken Basar, who along with ADC Osan Gao, CO Mang Poong, 138 Bn Second-in-Command Sukhvir Singh, and others attended the programme, expressed gratitude to the battalion, and said that the solar lanterns would be beneficial for school students as well as others.
Singh in his address informed that the CRPF conducts such programmes regularly and distributes daily life essentials to the locals, as per their requirements, “to build a strong bond between the security forces and develop a sense of belongingness.”
“We are determined to serve the society, right from law and order issue to all other fronts,” he said, and appealed to the locals to “participate with the CRPF in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the Swachhta Abhiyan,” besides urging them to also participate in the CRPF’s ‘say no to drugs’ campaign and fight against drug abuse and peddling.
