BORDURIA, 20 Apr: Borduria-Bogapani MLA Wanglin Lowangdong inaugurated theĀ ‘Lowangdong Public Mini-Outdoor Stadium’ in 12 Mile area in Borduria circle of Tirap district on Thursday.
He also inaugurated the ‘Towang Lowangdong Green Park’ here.
The MLA urged DSO (Sports) Noah Mongku to “ensure proper utilisation of the mini outdoor stadium in the interest of sports lovers of the district.”
Regarding the park, he informed that, “with a concept of conservation of greenery, flora and fauna, this project has been undertaken by the forest department.”
“When we talk about preservation, promotion and protection of art and culture, conservation of flora and fauna is equally important to protect ourselves from global warming and climate change,” the MLA said.
Tirap DC Hento Karga lauded Lowangdong “for creating two important projects in the district, which will immensely benefit the denizens of this region in the field of sports and recreational activities.”
“The park with its beautiful surroundings and the IB with adequate rooms will definitely attract tourists and visitors from various parts of the country and abroad, for which panchayat leaders and common masses must cooperate with the government in making a peaceful atmosphere in the region,” the DC said.
DFO Posum Tangha said that the park, funded by the DoTCL, “is a permanent asset for the entire people of Borduria circle in particular and Tirap district as a whole,” and appealed to all to “cooperate with the forest department and the Borduria administration to keep the park neat and clean.”
PWD AE SC Mishra informed that the outdoor stadium has been funded under the SIDF.
