YINGKIONG, Mar 9: Cloud burst has been reported from Upper Siang leading to flash flood which has severely damaged the Angong Nallah SHP (3 x 1.5 MW) at Janbo village, about 78 km from here on March 6.
The flash flood damaged the intake and pen stock pipeline of hydel project. Mudslides carried by the flash flood also submerged the power house.
The impact of the flood was so severe that check bunds or stoppage points made in the channel at many points were totally washed away.
The Project was on the verge of commissioning and trial and testing was supposed to begin from 15 March, informed Ojing Nobeng, EE Geku Hydro Power Division.
