The four-day sit-in protest staged by the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) at the tennis court in Itanagar ended last Tuesday. The PAJSC resorted to the peaceful dharna, alleging that the state government has failed to address the 13 demands which had been placed by it along with the ANSU. Ever since the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leak scam broke, the PAJSC has been leading from the front. More than a year has passed since this scam was broken by whistleblower Gyamar Padang. The PAJSC has been continuously raising this issue and people of state fully supported it. But slowly fatigue seems to have caught everyone. Unfortunately, the citizens seem to have moved on and the issue is not getting the support that it deserves. Why should the PAJSC alone keep fighting? This is a battle for every citizen and they all should join hands with the PAJSC. The four-day dharna has ended but there was no proper response from the government. Only Chief Minister Pema Khandu responded, saying that the doors of the government are open for the PAJSC. This issue deserves a logical solution. It can be arrived at only if all parties sit together and engage in meaningful dialogue. For this, the state government has made an initiative.
