Stringent age limit criteria have dashed the dreams

Editor,
I am writing to express my concerns regarding the age limit restrictions outlined in the recent advertisement for the Legal Meteorological Inspector post in Arunachal Pradesh. As a dedicated public servant holding a regular government job, I find the current upper age limit criteria to be highly restrictive and unfair.
Due to the issues with the APPSC in recent years, the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has not been functioning effectively, resulting in significant delays and hindering many aspiring candidates from advancing their careers or seeking new positions. The announcement of the Legal Meteorological Inspector post offered renewed hope to many, but the stringent age limit criteria have dashed the dreams of numerous eligible candidates, including myself, who were seeking one last opportunity.
It is important to note that the Honorable Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh had announced an upper age limit of 40 years for Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe candidates. In light of this, it is only fair and logical that regular government service holders be granted an additional relaxation of five years, extending the upper age limit to 45 years. This would align with the principles of inclusivity and fairness that our state strives to uphold.
The lack of age relaxation for regular government job holders disregards the years of service and dedication these individuals have contributed and demoralizes those who have been committed to serving the state. Implementing this age relaxation would provide a just opportunity for deserving candidates and encourage continued dedication among government employees.
I urge the concerned authorities to reconsider the age limit criteria for regular government job holders and extend the upper age limit to 45 years. Alternatively, reverting to the previous age limits of 30 years for non-APST and 35 years for APST candidates would also be acceptable. This adjustment would demonstrate the state government’s commitment to fairness, equity, and the well-being of its dedicated public servants.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that this appeal will be considered with the seriousness it deserves.
