Animal health camp held

HASSE RUSSA, 4 Sep: Forty-seven farmers participated in an ‘animal health-cum-awareness training camp’ organised by the ICAR’s Basar (Leparada)-based Arunachal Pradesh Centre, in collaboration with the Longding KVK, at Hasse Russa village in Longding district on Wednesday.

Addressing the farmers, ICAR veterinary extension senior scientist Dr Doni Jini delivered a lecture on common diseases in livestock and poultry, while KVK Head Dr Utpal Kr Bhattacharyya briefed them on the role of the KVKs in dissemination of information, and agronomy CTO Dr Kiran Kr Singh dwelt on the importance of integrated farming system for livelihood improvement of tribal farmers.

L&WM (engineering) Dr Amit Kumar, agriculture extension scientist Dr B Srishailam, and horticulture scientist Vikas also spoke.

A demonstration on vaccination of poultry, drenching, and firsthand treatment of animal was presented.

Veterinary medicines like antibiotics, anthelminthics, feed supplements, mineral mixture, etc, were later distributed free of cost to the livestock and poultry farmers.
