Clarification needed from APPSC

Editor,
Through your esteemed newspaper, I would like to bring to the attention of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) the mass confusion surrounding the recently announced TGT (trained graduate teacher) examination and the ongoing delay with the PGT (post graduate teacher) examination.
The APPSC released an exam calendar on 5 August, which mentioned that the TGT examination will be conducted on 9 and 10 November, 2024. However, no further details have been provided regarding this exam till date. Various confusions are yet to be cleared to the aspirants, such as:
1. The exam pattern: Will the examination be objective, subjective, or a combination of both?
2. Nature of the exam: Is it a recruitment test or a mains exam, given that it spans two days?
3. Re-advertisement and vacancy: There was an advertisement for the TGT exam two years ago. Will this exam be re-advertised, or will it follow the old notification? Will there be changes in the number of posts?
4. Opportunity for new candidates: Will new candidates be allowed to apply and participate, or is it limited to previous applicants?
The commission must understand that there are thousands of candidates who are engaged in other private, contractual jobs for their daily sustenance. The last two years were depressing and financially draining, which compelled many of such to venture out searching for meagre jobs. We need clarity as to how preparation should be be at this moment – whether we should focus on objective-based questions or quit our meagre jobs and focus for the mains – because direct mains require shunning everything and be completely into studies. Or are we even getting the opportunity to sit in the exam?
Additionally, it is perplexing that there has been no update on the PGT examination, which was cancelled two years ago. The PGT exam is of higher administrative importance, and logically, it should take precedence over the TGT exam, given that candidates often leave lower-level posts for higher ones.
Conducting the PGT exam first would help streamline the recruitment process and prevent unnecessary vacancy disruptions, resource wastage and deprivation to deserving candidates.
The APPSC has directed candidates to check the website for updates, but no information has been provided yet, considering that the exam is barely a month away.
I urge the APPSC to address these concerns and provide clear information to help candidates plan and prepare for these examinations.
