KVK SAC meeting held

YACHULI, 10 Feb: The Lower Subansiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) conducted a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting here on Monday, in the presence of Keyi Panyor DC Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta, KVK agriculture extension principal scientist Dr Rajesh Kumar, the HoDs of agriculture and allied departments, and progressive farmers of Keyi Panyor district.

The meeting was initiated by KVK Head Dr Hage Munth, who gave a brief introduction about the importance of the SAC meeting and the role of the KVK in the district.

The DC in her address emphasised on need-based training, and field demonstration for the welfare of the farmers. She also interacted with progressive farmers and the HoDs.

Dr Kumar stressed on scientific crop cultivation practices, and on “increasing the crop cultivation per unit area,” the KVK informed in a release. He also emphasised on the importance of OFT/FLD and SAC meetings.

During the technical session, the respective subject matter specialists presented their annual reports of 2024-25 and the annual action plan for 2025-26.

“In addition, the DVO and the DFDO advocated large-scale cultivation of maize for fish and animal feeds, for which they are ready to converge with the KVK for production of these feeds within the district as most of the feeds are procured from nearby states,” the release added.
