PASIGHAT, 2 May: The commerce department of Arunachal Pradesh University (APU) here in East Siang district organised an awareness programme on international scholarships/fellowships for higher studies on Friday.
The objective of the programme was to inform and empower students with comprehensive knowledge about various international scholarships and fellowships available for pursuing higher education abroad.
The resource person for the session was Roderick Wijunamai, a doctoral candidate in anthropology at Cornell University, New York, USA. He previously served as a lecturer in sociology and anthropology at the Royal Thimphu College, Bhutan.
During his presentation, Wijunamai motivated students to consider studying abroad, and provided detailed insights into scholarship options and the application process. He stressed the importance of research, and offered practical tips on crafting successful proposals.
APU Commerce HoD Dr Chiging Yamang reiterated the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and learning not just for personal growth but also to uplift others.
The interactive session concluded with a lively Q&A, during which Wijunamai addressed students’ queries and concerns.
