GUWAHATI (Assam), Apr 26: Members of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation-North East Zone (IMP-NE) during the group’s first meeting here on Thursday discussed various issues pertaining to adventure activities to be taken up during the current year.
IMF-NE chairman KN Damo stressed the role of the foundation’s zonal group in view of the introduction of sport climbing as one of the events at the Jakarta Asian Games and the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The IMF’s NE zonal committee will organize adventure film festivals, sports climbing training camps, competitions, and trekking and mountaineering expeditions in different parts of the Northeast to create awareness and instill the spirit of adventure among the youths.
Everester Anshu Jamsenpa also attended the meeting.
