Editor,

I would like to place my sincere appeal to the AAPSU president to kindly intervene into the time constraints that the assistant engineer aspirants (second selected list) are facing in the forthcoming APPSCCE, which is scheduled for 28 and 29 September.

Though the commission has complied with the high court’s order, it has not given adequate time for preparation, which is a disadvantage for our APST aspirants as the unreserved assistant engineer post could be easily occupied by general category candidates only, which is not in conformity with the demand for 100% job reservation.

Though we may not have 100% reservation in our state, at least we deserve a level playing field, that is, adequate time for preparation.

The said exam can be conducted on the last week of October or the first week of November, as there are no other exams scheduled thereafter. The second listed aspirants (around 300 aspirants) have hardly nine days of preparation for the mains as the result was just announced yesterday, which is in any sense is not an adequate time for preparation for any kind of examination.

The commission could have scheduled the exam date after due process of reviewing petition, but it failed to do so. It has turned deaf ears to the aspirants’ grievances. So, the last option is through the AAPSU – it being the premier students’ organisation and has the duty to place our grievances before the commission. So I sincerely request our learned AAPSU president AAPSU and its executive members to kindly intervene in this matter as it is about the future of the students and aspirants our beautiful state.
