Editor,

Vide Order No PERS-40/2/2022/483, dated 15, October, 2025, the department of personnel had asked all the departments to furnish the latest and anticipated vacancies upto December 2026 by 31 October, 2025.

Two and half months have already passed since the issuing of this order, and all the departments must have already submitted their latest and anticipated vacancies to the authority concerned.

It seems that the APPSC has already started releasing advertisements for various vacancies such as assistant professor. But what about advertisements for district tourism officer (DTO) and tourist information officer (TIO)?

In spite of the tourism department being such an important one, which builds the image of the state, earns revenue for the government and creates employment opportunities, many districts are without regular DTO and TIO.

Even after begging for so many years for advertisement for DTO and TIO posts by unemployed tourism youths, the response from the authority had been negative; rather one single post of TIO, which was advertised in the year 2022 was cancelled last year without giving any concrete reason.

Therefore, I, on the behalf of unemployed tourism youths, appeal to pressure groups, especially the AAPSU, ANSU and ANYA, to help unemployed tourism youths by raising the issue of advertisement of vacant posts of DTO and TIO. Now, these pressure groups are the last hope for unemployed tourism youths.
