KANUBARI, 3 Feb: An awareness workshop and mobilisation drive on the Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) was conducted at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) here in Longding district on Tuesday.
Attending the workshop, Kanubari Additional Deputy Commissioner Yashwant Meena said the flagship programmes of the department of skill development and entrepreneurship (DSDE) would bridge the gap between employers and unemployed youths.
“The skill development programmes of DSDE,including the PM-NAPS/SAPS, Chief Minister’s Soft Loan Scheme (CMSLS) and the foreign language training programme and overseas placement (FLTPOP) have been meticulously designed to provide skill employment and job opportunities to our youths of Arunachal Pradesh within India and abroad,” the ADC said, and urged the participants to make the best use of the opportunity to skill themselves and be employable.
Commending the DSDE for bringing the programmes at the doorsteps of the unemployed youths, Meena informed that the Longding district administration would “share and relay the DSDE skill development and job opportunities available for the unemployed youths in other parts of the district, as well.”
DSDE Deputy Director Gyati Kacho delivered a presentation on the detailed benefits of NAPS/SAPS, while DSDE consultant Tonuruchi Olimman delivered a presentation on the CMSLS and the FLTPOP.
Industry Deputy Director Haolem Arangam urged the trainees to venture outside the state to enhance their skills and find employment.
Representatives of empanelled third-party aggregators briefed the participants on available job roles, vacancies, and training locations. Dedicated stalls were also set up at the venue to provide on-the-spot counselling and registration for interested candidates.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation of ITI Kanubari trainees and other unemployed youthsof the district.
