TAWANG, Jun 20: Around 60 farmers of Tawang district attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction programme with the farmers all over India through video conferencing on Wednesday. The programme was arranged by the Tawang Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Zomkhang hall.
Talking with farmers, PM Modi said his government has doubled the budget for agriculture to Rs 2.12 lakh crore to achieve its objective of doubling farm income by 2022.
The PM said the four cornerstones of the government policy for raising farm income are cutting input cost, fair price for the crop, preventing the produce from rotting and creating alternate sources of income.
The PM encouraged the farmers all over the India to practice integrated farming system.
Deputy Director of Agriculture, LT Lama; Agriculture Development Officer KB Kayastha, Senior Scientist and Tawang KVK Head, Dr DS Chhonkar were also present on the occasion.
