TAWANG, Jul 3: RWD Parliamentary Secretary Jambey Tashi addressed meetings at various villages during a two-day pilgrimage to Taksang Gompa in Taksang village and Guru Padmasambhava Lhagang in Lumpo in Zemithang. The pilgrimage concluded on Monday.
At Taksang, the PS emphasized on providing quality education, and exhorted teachers to perform their duties with utmost sincerity.
Lauding the decision of the villagers against transfer of teachers without relievers, he directed the representatives of the DDSE to “opt against teachers’ transfers without replacement,” saying “such practices shall have adverse effect on the education of the pupils.”
Informing about the priority accorded by the government to the education sector, Tashi said, “I have pressed for a VKV in Lumla to further embolden the education of our region and I am optimistic that it shall be commissioned soon.”
Emphasizing on skill development for self-employment, Tashi, who holds the additional portfolio of SDE, informed that establishment of an ITI in Lumla is in the pipeline.
He also spoke on the importance of cleanliness, health and hygiene, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Earlier, the PS paid obeisance to Guru Padmasambhava at Taksang Gompa and prayed for world peace.
At the public meeting at the Zemithang inspection bungalow, he learned about the people’s grievances and discussed various development projects.
On Sunday, the PS reached Lumpo village, near the Sino-India border, and inspected the progress of work on landscaping and beautifying the temple there.
Responding to memorandums submitted by the villagers during the trip, Tashi gave assurance that their grievances would be redressed in phases. He also interacted with the villagers of Kharigor, Gorzham and Brokhenthang during his trip.
Former ZPM Lobsang Younten, Lumla PWD EE Srivastav, Tawang RWD EE Phurpa Tsering, representatives of the DDSE, and others accompanied the legislator in the pilgrimage. (Tawang Vigilance)
