ITANAGAR, Aug 9: The recent death of Arunachalee youth Tage Dule in a train incident in Uttar Pradesh has become murkier with the revelation that his body was found with 90% burns.
Dule was travelling from Delhi to Naharlagun, and was reportedly thrown out of Arunachal Express train by some unidentified persons in an area falling under Donda district of Uttar Pradesh in the intervening night of 2-3 August.
He succumbed to his injuries on 6 August.
According to a report, when railway officials first found him near the tracks, Dule’s body was 90% burnt, and he reportedly died of burn injuries.
Dule had gone to Dehradun to pick up his cousin brother, and was coming back along with him. On 2 August, till around 10 pm, both were together. However, Dule’s seat was in another compartment,and both went to their respective seats to sleep after 10 pm. It is understood that the incident took place after they parted.
Meanwhile, former president of the Apatani Youth Association, Taku Chatung, has sought proper investigation into the incident.
“From the account of eyewitnesses, it seems that he died of burn injury. It is not just a case of being pushed out of train. In all probability, Dule was brutally murdered,” said Chatung.
