SANGDUPOTA, Aug 10: The All Papum Poma Student’s Union organized ‘veterinary medical camp-cum-awareness programmes’ at various villages of Sangdupota circle in Papum Pare district on 8 and 9 August to help the farmers in the treatment of their animals.
The programmes were held under the guidance of the union’s assistant general secretary Ngurang Taming and the staff of the veterinary office in Yupia. The team also conducted a vaccination programme.
Forty-seven mituns, one cow and a pig suffering from foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) were treated successfully. The veterinary officials also offered tips to the locals on taking care of their domestic animals.
The union urged the Papum Pare DVO to supply sufficient FMD-related medicine to in the area.
