Renowned doctor passes away

ITANAGAR, Sep 1: Paediatric specialist surgeon Dr John Ratan passed away at the age of 60 years at AIIMS, Bangalore, on 31 August.
Born in Poblung Dambuk in Lower Dibang Valley district in 1958, Dr Ratan joined the AIIMS, Delhi, after doing his MBSS in 1984. During his lifetime, he served at Apollo Hospital, Maulana Abul Kalam, Max, Batra Hospital, and abroad in Saudi Arabia for five years.
He leaves behind his wife Dr Simi Ratan, who is presently serving as a professor in the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Delhi, son Robin Ratan, who is an engineer, and a daughter Rhea Ratan, who is doing her MBBS at the MAMC, the Ratan Welfare Society (RWS) informed.
The RWS deeply mourned the untimely demise of Dr Ratan and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
It its condolence message, it described Dr Ratan’s death as an “irreparable loss to the society and the state as a whole.”
