MODIRIJO, Sep 4: Local MLA Techi Kaso inaugurated a Bailey bridge at Modirijo in the capital region on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, Kaso said the long-pending demand of the people of the area has been fulfilled with the construction of bridge in a phased manner, even with limited resources.
“The capital region is inhabited by more than 2 lakh people and the population is growing day by day, with ever increasing demand for development,” Kaso said, citing the reason for the delay in completion of the bridge.
“The people of Modirijo colony and other four villages will not face difficulties in crossing Modirijo Nallah in any season now,” he said, adding that the few remaining minor works on the bridge would be done before winter.
The 15-metre span bridge was constructed by the PWD.
PWD Capital Division-A Executive Engineer Tana Nekam Tara informed that construction of the supporting wing walls and other minor construction work would be taken up soon.
