POMA, Oct 12: A month-long training on bamboo based furniture and handicraft processing, production and marketing linkage for forestry internship students from different universities began at the Poma Bamboo Processing Centre on Friday.
A total of 41 trainees enrolled for batch wise training programme.
State Forest Research Institute (SFRI) Director, Dusu Shra spoke on the importance of skill development and employment opportunities. He suggested the trainees to be more dedicated and avail the opportunities provided by the Poma Bamboo Processing Centre.
Scientist, RK Taj briefed the trainees about possibilities of innovative design development, production, and marketing linkage within the state and aboard.
Poma Bamboo Processing Centre Chairperson, Techi Anna, briefed about various activities of the Centre and sought government support.
Managing Director of the centre, Techi Rotu advised the trainees to maintain discipline.
