CHIMPU, Oct 26: The second day of the two-day ‘Children’s Film Bonanza’ organized by the Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI) in collaboration with the state’s information & public relations (IPR) department witnessed the screening of two films, Hallo and Gauru, at the Donyi-Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually impaired here on Friday.
“Films play a pivotal role not only to entertain children but also to educate and keep them updated about the many-splendoured things of life,” IPR Director Obang Tayeng said, addressing the teachers and students of the school.
Tayeng lauded the latent talents of the students, and urged the school’s teachers and staff to continue to work with dedication to hone the skills of the differently-abled students.
CFSI Mumbai’s administrative officer Rajesh Gohil informed that films would be screened every month for the students of the school. “Films are a strong medium to convey educationally enriching issues and other useful social messages,” he said.
Earlier, responding to the grievances submitted by the school’s principal, IPR Special Secretary Himanshu Gupta said he would impress upon the government the need to address the genuine issues on priority. (DIPR)
